The signature Sienna lifestyle continues to attract homebuyers — with more than 2,000 people saying yes to Sienna in 2021, to be exact — keeping us among the top 25 master-planned communities in the nation.
Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO) ranks us No. 24 on its annual report of the nation’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities. John Burns Real Estate Consulting lists us at No. 25. Rankings for both reports are based on net home sales for the previous year; in 2021, Sienna builders sold 646 homes.
Chad Hensley, Senior Consultant with John Burns Real Estate Consulting, calls Sienna a self-sustaining community and that has led to its success.
"We expect to see a continuation of 'self-contained/self-sustaining; communities just outside of major cities across the U.S.," he said. "In today's market, builders and developers need to increase the value proposition provided to potential consumers.
"Sienna is a great example of how to execute this type of product offering; a community that has been in the top 50 selling masterplans in the nation every year since 2010. Located roughly 27 miles south of downtown Houston, Sienna includes a number of builders across several lot sizes and product lines, with prices spanning from $300,000 to more than $1 million. Additionally, the community is served by four on-site elementary schools, two middle schools, a high school, and an on-site private school. The community also boasts grand monumentation, which creates a sense of arrival, and offers a substantial list of amenities, including water parks, parks, fitness centers, golf club, the Sawmill Lake Club and miles of nature trails.
"When you buy in Sienna, you are near anything you could want, without ever having to leave the area."
Square footage that accommodates working from home and remote education topped the list of buyer must-haves last year, according to RCLCO. Floor plans that offered flex rooms, dual workspaces and private areas proved popular, but buyers also demanded pre-wired wi-fi, built-in USB chargers, exterior entrances and better noise insulation.
Outdoor living spaces with large backyards, extended patios and porches continued to attract buyers as people looked for ways to entertain friends and family while maintaining proper social distances.
The most popular communities also offered innovative outdoor amenities. Places where people could exercise, meet up with friends and enjoy entertainment. That’s something Sienna has always had in abundance. You might even say there’s so much to do outdoors, Sienna residents are hardly ever indoors.
You will find them exploring our 100+ acres of parks boasting imaginative play equipment, sports fields, toddler spaces and picnic places. Surrounding these is our beautiful trail system offering opportunities to take evening strolls, train for an upcoming 5K or bike with the kids.
Want to relax by the lake? No problem. We have several. Got a favorite sport? At Camp Sienna, you can indulge in soccer, baseball, softball, sand volleyball and basketball, lacrosse and football. There are even kid and adult leagues so you can get competitive. If tennis is your game, Club Sienna has a court for you. When it comes to water fun we’ve got pools, splash pads and water parks.
There’s more to playing outdoors than sports, of course. Sienna also has a lakeside outdoor amphitheater for concerts, hosts a weekly farmers market and even has an annual outdoor art festival.
One thing we do better than any master-planned community is promote community. You won’t find a tighter knit group of residents anywhere else. And community is really what it’s all about. Will this be the year that you join us?
