Sienna Plantation Opens Third Resort-Style Water Park

June 27, 2010

Sienna Plantation has made a splash this summer with the grand opening of its third resort-style water park in the Johnson Development Corporation community – The Resort at Sienna Springs.  Renowned for its lifestyle amenities, Sienna Plantation’s addition of The Resort at Sienna Springs, which boasts 9,000 square feet of water features with the ability to accommodate 750 guests, is a unique attraction to the master planned community and offers many different amenities designed for all ages.

Surrounded by tropical, lush landscaping with a cascading tower waterfall at the center, The Resort at Sienna Springs is divided into specific zones for adults and children.  The children’s zones feature two enormous water slides.  One is a large, tunnel drop slide for the more adventurous, and the other is a slower, meandering slide.  Both slides empty into a plunge pool that features a waterfall.
Other amenities for children include a giant lily pad obstacle course and life-sized water cannons that emerge from the pool.  A zero entry beach provides easy access for the little ones and features bubbling water jets.

Safety is a key component to the park’s design and permanent lifeguard stands are located throughout the park.  Eight to ten lifeguards are on duty during park hours to insure safety in the over-sized water areas.

Adults can enjoy multiple tanning ledges for sunbathing and wooden verandas and custom-made trellises that surround the water park.  Comfortable lounge chairs, umbrella tables and convenient vending machines are also included in various areas.
“No master planned community has as many water amenities as Sienna Plantation,” said Susie Goff, marketing director.  “From our multiple pools, slides and splash zones, our water amenities help make Sienna Plantation a unique, family-oriented community. There’s something for everyone at our resort-style water parks.”
Creating a unique water park focusing on amenities was the vision for The Resort at Sienna Springs according to TBG Partners, the firm who built the water park.  “Most community pools are built for swim teams with only a few amenities,” said Bill Odle, TBG Partners.  “The Resort at Sienna Springs was based 100% on amenities custom designed to appeal to all ages.”

The water park has a dual purpose as it features a large plaza area perfect for community events.  The park has already been the site of The Grand Wine and Food Affair’s Annual Sienna Sip and Stroll attended by over 4,000 guests.  On September 25th, the park will be the site for the American Cancer Society’s Couture for the Cure fashion show and fundraising event.

The Resort at Sienna Springs is open to all Sienna residents and is within walking distance of three new neighborhoods located in The Village of Anderson Springs.  Models are now open in these new neighborhoods and home prices range from the $180,000’s to the $300,000’s.  The Village of Anderson Springs is located near Sienna Plantation’s newest elementary school, Schiff Elementary, and is in proximity to Highway 6.

A 7,000-acre community, Sienna Plantation is home to five Fort Bend Independent School District campuses including Fort Bend’s newest high school, Ridge Point High School, opening this August.  Sienna also boasts an impressive amenities list including three resort-style water parks, two additional community pools, a lakeside amphitheater, lighted tennis courts, playgrounds, a world-class fitness center and the Camp Sienna sports complex.  Sienna’s on-site Director of Recreation and Fun oversees a full slate of classes, sports teams and events for all ages.  Sienna Plantation Golf Club offers championship golf, a well-stocked pro shop and fine dining at The Grille.  For more information on Sienna Plantation or The Resort at Sienna Springs, located near Highway 6 and the Fort Bend Parkway, call 281.778.7777 or visit www.siennaplantation.com.
