Good news! Famers Market Partners, which operates the weekly market in Sienna, was just certified by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
To become certified at least 75 percent of all produce sold at the market must have been grown in Texas, at least two or more of its members are farmers selling their own produce and that all agricultural products sold at the market are of merchantable quality.
What does that mean for you? It means that you can easily pick up locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as local eggs, grass-fed beef, chicken and artisan food.
The market was located at 2700 Lake Olympia Parkway Business Center, but under Missouri City’s special event provision, was only able to run every two weeks.
We offered them a new home at 5855 Sienna Springs Way in the Sienna Annex parking lot, next to Fort Bend County Library Sienna Branch. The market has been operating here since May 4, but on June 29 there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration at 9 a.m.
Come out for the fun then make plans to attend every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Want to make it easier on yourself? Make the move to Sienna and you can walk or ride your bike there!
