To Market, To Market for Lemonade Day
April 22, 2019

Have you heard? A popular Missouri City farmers market is moving to Sienna Plantation. Opening day for the seasonal market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4 — which just happens to coincide with Lemonade Day.

The market — owned by Farmers Market Partners — used to be located at 2700 Lake Olympia Parkway Business Center, but under Missouri City’s special event provision, was only able to run every two weeks.

We offered them a new home at 5855 Sienna Springs Way near the Fort Bend County Library Sienna Branch. Now vendors can operate every week and you can easily pick up locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as local eggs, grass-fed beef, chicken and artisan food.

In honor of Lemonade Day, the entrepreneurs of the Young Sprouts Club will be bringing citrus-based commerce to the market. Young Sprouts Club is a free entrepreneurship/educational club where kids can run their own lemonade stand. Each young entrepreneur is given a stand; all they have to bring is the lemonade, dispenser, cooler and cups. They keep 100 percent of what they earn.

Lemonade Day was started by Paranet, Inc. founder Michael Holthouse in 2007 as a way to teach real-world business skills to children, preparing them to become the business leaders, social advocates, community volunteers and forward-thinking citizens of tomorrow.

Take advantage of this sweet opportunity to support the smallest of small businesses and make sure to come out for a very fun day.
