There is no place like America, and no better place to celebrate Independence Day than Sienna Plantation, where residents will rock the red, white and blue holiday with a weekend-long schedule of patriotic events.
The homeowners association kicks off the 4th of July extravaganza on Friday, July 3 with the community’s annual Concert and Fireworks Spectacular. The evening begins at 7 p.m. when Houston-based rock band The Rapture takes the amphitheater stage that is suspended over Water’s Lake. The Rapture’s vast playlist of popular rock and pop songs is the perfect lead in to Illumination Fireworks’ dazzling and imaginative pyrotechnic display. The Rapture returns to the stage, following the fireworks, to close out the evening’s festivities, which should end by 10 p.m.
On Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, residents will be treated to an all-day pool party at the community’s many pools, including those located at the 12-acre Club Sienna Recreation Complex, home of the South’s largest, private waterpark and the Sienna Resort Pool. Sienna Plantation’s favorite jam jockey, D.J. Rick, will rotate around the pool complexes playing his mix of hits while families enjoy pool games hosted by Greater Houston Pool Management.
The star-spangled celebration concludes at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.) at the amphitheater, with a special showing of Captain America Winter Soldier, an action-packed sequel to Captain America, starring Chris Evans as the Marvel superhero trying to find his place in 21st century America while fighting villains.
The celebration and fireworks are subject to schedule changes or cancellation due to inclement weather. The events are open only to Sienna Plantation residents. For more information and a detailed schedule of events, please check www.siennanet.com under Rec & Fun.
