MISSOURI CITY, TX (November 24, 2014) – Initial plans for the continuation of Sienna Plantation have been announced to include the master-planned community’s newest village, The Village of Sawmill Lake, where construction of new homes is expected to begin on 500 home sites, including 45 homes in a gated neighborhood, in spring 2015.
The Village of Sawmill Lake, named after the sawmills which operated in the area in the mid 1800’s, also includes a 15-acre elementary school site purchased by the Fort Bend Independent School District and a 32-acre middle school site currently under contract by the District. Children in Sienna Plantation currently attend three existing on-site elementary schools, an on-site middle school and a new high school among several others in the highly acclaimed Fort Bend Independent School District.
Sienna Plantation’s newest village is part of a 3,700-acre parcel purchased in January by the luxury homebuilder Toll Brothers in a joint venture with the private equity firm GTIS Partners. The two parties later entered into an agreement with The Johnson Development Corp., developer of Sienna Plantation, to act as primary developer of the acreage.
“We’re looking to build on Sienna Plantation’s outstanding reputation,” says Karl Mistry, Houston Division President of Toll Brothers, noting that since its inception, Sienna Plantation has consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities. “Our plan is to maintain Sienna Plantation’s architectural standards to create a seamless addition to the community.”
Twelve model homes are expected to open in March 2015 to create one of Houston’s largest model home collections.
Plans also call for the addition of resident-only amenity centers with the first scheduled to open in 2016 along the banks of Sawmill Lake in the northeast section of the village. Several commercial properties also are available for sale.
