If there has ever been a year for a staycation, this is the year.
Luckily for Sienna residents, it’s easy to staycay when there is so much to do in and around the community.
Whether it’s because temperatures are on the rise or you just need to relax, there are plenty of places to chill in Sienna. We have five pools, including several water parks that feature towering slides, zero-entry lagoons, water toys, tot slides and even a “Big Bucket” — the signature feature of the Club Sienna Water Park.
Parks, Parks and More Parks
Even our residents are surprised just how many parks there are in Sienna (more than 100 acres!). There’s a park for every activity — patches of fun for kiddos wanting to swing, climb and slide; outdoor fitness areas for those wanting to take strength training breaks on their job; and shady, peaceful respites for those wanting to relax and listen to the birds.
Pack a picnic and venture outside Sienna to Kitty Hollow Park located just beyond our main entrance. You’ll find it all in this expansive, 190-acre park — multiple playgrounds, covered tables with nearby grills, a fishing pier, splash pad, dog park, observation deck, softball field, courts for basketball and volleyball and a fitness station. A little further down the road is Brazos Bend State Park, known for opportunities to view wildlife — especially alligators. You can also hike, bike, fish, picnic, ride your horse (maybe kept at Sienna Stables) and camp overnight.
Swing a Club or Racquet
No need to head to a resort for access to a golf club or tennis court — we have them right here in the community. Sienna Golf Club is an 18-hole semi-private golf club that offers a driving range and acclaimed training academy. After the game, stop by The Sienna Grille for a celebratory cocktail and something tasty from its gourmet menu.
Tennis players enjoy Sienna’s eight lighted courts, where they can play with friends or in leagues. The clubhouse also offers a pro shop.
Explore and Discover
Sienna’s master design includes miles and miles of trails connecting neighborhoods, parks, playgrounds, pools, nature reserves and more. Look for bird life and butterflies. Tranquil lakes and gardens. Dense, leafy clusters of forest. Discovery expeditions are fun and easy in Sienna! Just walk out your front door and head off in any direction.
You’ll find dozens of restaurants in and around Sienna, serving up anything from burgers to pizza to sushi to fine wine. Hop on the Fort Bend Tollway, which intersects with Sienna Parkway and you can be dining in Rice Village (maybe Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict for brunch at Hungry’s or a scoop of brownie ice cream from the Chocolate Bar) or The Galleria (try Del Frisco’s for that special night out) in less than 30 minutes.
Fun and Games
Just like an activities director might organize fiestas, dance parties, pool games or more at a large resort, there’s an entire lifestyle team that keeps the fun rolling in Sienna all year long. Even with social distancing putting a temporary pause on large-scale events — such as the popular Truck ‘N Munch and Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series — residents have enjoyed mobile block parties, bake-offs, a virtual pet show and other engaging activities.
