Summer rolls a little differently in Sienna.
Neighborly connection cultivated through a robust resident event calendar or shared experiences at the many onsite schools and churches lead to summer barbecues that stretch from cooking in the afternoon to watching stars together.
But even a Sienna newcomer who hasn’t had a chance to meet the neighbors yet will find plenty to keep them busy this summer. Let’s take a look:
Make a Splash at Pools and Waterparks
Nothing says summer like a day at the pool — and you have your choice of them in Sienna. Go for the thrills racing down slides at the Club Sienna or Resort at Sienna Springs water parks or watch the kids shriek with laughter as the Club Sienna big bucket douses them with water. The pool at Sawmill Lake Club will have you living the resort life without the cumbersome travel. Insider tip: the shallow waters of the Steep Bank Pool and Brushy Lake Pool are favorites with the younger set.
Summer Camps, Sienna-Style
Young Sienna residents will be quick to make friends at the wide array of full- and half-day summer campshosted in Sienna. Lego camps build engineering skills in your little tinkerer. Theater and dance camps can help young would-be stars grow more confident. Camps for tennis, pickleball and overall fitness will help youth athletes thrive. Little ones serious about basketball can participate in a summer league. From mad science to cake crafting, there are kid camps for every interest.
Sienna’s Summer Social Scene
Sienna’s summer schedule is filled with some of our most popular events. The Juneteenth Jubilee is always a hit, with live music, carnival rides, food trucks, a vendor market, and much more. Sienna goes big for July 4th, and this year’s celebration will blast over several days with “United We Splash” pool parties, music, cool treats, and more. The big event happens July 2 when The Emerald City Band performs at the Club Sienna amphitheater. Teen game nights, crafting classes, adults-only pool parties, ice cream socials, Bingo nights, and more keep Sienna residents busy this summer.
Keeping Fit — and Cool
With miles of trails, residents often enjoy morning jogs through the community. But unless you want to jog in the pre-dawn hours, it’s often just too hot to pound the pavement during the summer. But that doesn’t mean residents’ fitness routines are on hold until the temps cool. Instead, residents have two nicely air-conditioned fitness centers filled with cardio and strength-training equipment. Monday-through-Sunday fitness classes that start as early as 5 a.m. on some days cater to all schedules. Lap lanes at Club Sienna and Brushy Lake let residents get a full-body, kind-to-the-joints workout.
Kicking Back
Summer brings a vacation vibe, and vacation means relaxation. Sienna residents can find plenty of places to kick back — whether it’s on their charming back patio or at one of the inviting spaces around the community. Stick your toes in the sand at Sawmill Beach Club. Breathe in nature under the canopy of old oak trees at Sienna Tree Room and Suzanne Eatwood Park. Skip the golf and go straight for a cocktail at the 19th hole at the Sienna Grille.
