While much of the world anticipates fall for the return of all things pumpkin spice, Sienna residents look forward to the many seasonal events autumn brings to the community. Here’s a look at just some of the beloved traditions and new fall happenings Sienna residents have marked on their calendars:
Rediscovered Treasures Garage Sale
Residents look forward to clearing out their closets and bargain hunters from all over Fort Bend are excited about the chance to shop dozens of garage sales in one easy location. This year’s Rediscovered Treasures Garage Sale will be 7-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Sawmill Lake Club, 10323 Mount Logan in Sienna.
Gingerbread Market
The holiday shopping season doesn’t officially begin in Sienna until the annual Gingerbread Market, now in its 21st year. Dozens of local artisans and vendors showcase a variety of gift items, including home décor, jewelry, candles, specialty foods, and more. Admission is one canned good for the Second Mile Mission food pantry. Guests who are 21+ and bring another canned good will receive a ticket for an adult beverage while supplies last. While everyone is invited, Sienna residents enjoy having this annual event close to home. The Gingerbread Market will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Sawmill Lake Club, 10323 Mount Logan in Sienna.
Haunted Blanket Bingo
Residents will meet at Sienna’s lakeside amphitheater for games, prizes, and fun. Those in costume will receive a free space in the biggest prize round, and prizes will be awarded for the most creative costume and best duo or group costume. Everyone will enjoy Halloween treats and photo ops.
Think Pink: Morning of Movement, Wellness & Community Supporting Breast Cancer
Honoring breast cancer survivors, supporting those fighting, and remembering those lost, Sienna residents will gather at the Sawmill Lake Event Pavilion for wellness booths, photos, and encouragement. Free Jazzercise, Tai Chi, and Sound Therapy classes will promote continued wellness.
Fall Fit Week
Sienna kiddos ages 9 to 14 can keep active this fall break during Fall Fit Week at the Brushy Lake Fitness Center. Under the supportive eye of fitness center staff, the young participants will play strength and conditioning games and take part in skills-based activities as they build confidence and healthy fitness habits.
Fall Halloween Campout
One of Sienna’s most popular events, the Fall Halloween Campout invites residents to spend the night at Camp Sienna. This beloved camping experience includes tent trick or treating, a tent decorating contest, a family movie, a box dinner, and campfire s’mores. It’s a night under the stars the kids will remember forever.
Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice at Regency
A list of fall activities would be incomplete without at least one pumpkin spice-related event! Sienna’s active adults (50+) will gather at Regency at Sienna — the community’s newly opened active adult neighborhood — for a festive fall coffee bar and mini pumpkin decorating. It will be a cozy afternoon with neighbors-soon-to-become-friends.
Kids Spooky Cookie & Candy Charcuterie Workshop
Goblins and ghouls ages 3-10 (with their parents) will meet at Club Sienna to create a “boo-tiful” charcuterie board of spooky candies and cookies. It should be a “fang-tastic” evening for Sienna’s young residents!
Brazos Birding Hike
In this case, the early bird doesn’t catch the worm — it catches the sights and sounds of dozens of species of birds during a morning guided birding hike at nearby Brazos Bend State Park. Sienna residents will join other nature lovers for a guided hike focusing on the diverse bird population inhabiting the area. Hikers will leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to identify different species by sight and sound.
Road Trip: Nutcracker Market
Anyone who has ever driven to the Houston Ballet’s annual Nutcracker Market and walked the massive parking lot with arms loaded with treasures will appreciate being dropped off and picked up at the door. Sienna residents can rest easy on a bus ride to and from NRG Center, spending their time mapping out their shopping route and recounting their favorite finds instead of navigating heavy traffic. It’s a convenience that always fills up fast!
