Toddler story times and Easter egg hunts are too young. Mix & Mingles for those ages 21 and up are too old. But pizza nights and pool parties with just the right music and games? That’s what Goldilocks — and Sienna teens and tweens — would call “just right.”
All too often, a community’s resident event calendars are full of gatherings catering to families with small children. But in communities that are designed for people to move up and down in home sizes as their needs evolve — like Sienna — successful lifestyle programs should include activities that appeal to the in-between stage, not a little kid yet not an adult.
Sienna’s busy resident calendar does just that. Here’s a sampling of activities that have encouraged our tweens and teens to connect and have fun this year at their own pace:
Girls Night In
Girls in eighth through 12th grades are invited to a pajama night at Club Sienna this month. Hot cocoa, Christmas cookies and 3D Diva crafting are on tap as the girls enjoy an event designed just for them.
Surf’s Up Pool Party
Sienna teens were invited to hang loose at Club Sienna for a pool party full of epic water games and beach-inspired fun. Organized specifically for 12- to 16-year-olds, the party was a blast with a DJ spinning the latest hits.
Pizza & Pickleball
Sienna’s lifestyle team could probably have stopped at “pizza,” but the addition of open play pickleball ensured the success of this teen event. A DJ spinning popular tunes and the chance to win prizes added to the excitement.
Youth Workouts
Sienna kiddos ages 9 to 16 can join Youth Fitness Foundations for weekly workouts at Brushy Lakes Fitness Center. Specially designed for their growing bodies, these workouts emphasize the benefits of regular physical activity, laying the foundation for a lifetime of health and fitness.
Study Nights
Students in eighth through 12th grades can meet Wednesday evenings at Sawmill Lake Club to study together or escape the rambunctious ramblings of younger siblings as they work on projects or prepare for tests — with free wi-fi and snacks provided!
College Fair
Building on study nights at Sawmill Lake Club, Sienna teens learned more about college at this summer’s college fair. Open to incoming juniors and seniors, the fair hosted representatives from nearly a dozen universities who were there to share what their schools had to offer. Attendees could also have professional headshots taken and learn more about college admissions and financial aid.
A School for All Grades
Beyond events hosted by Sienna’s lifestyle team, resident teens find plenty to do at onsite schools. It’s likely they started their education at one of Sienna’s daycare centers, moving up to elementary school, middle school, and high school — all without leaving the community.
If you’re looking for a home where every member of the family has a place to grow, learn, and have fun — right in their community — Sienna is ready to welcome you.
