Sienna Schools Earn Top 2015 Ratings
August 26, 2015

All seven schools serving Sienna Plantation again earned the highest ratings given by the Texas Education Agency, “Met Standard,” in recently released accountability reports.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) graded more than 8,600 Texas campuses in the 2015 accountability ratings, as well as more than 1,200 school districts and charters. Fort Bend Independent School District also maintained its Met Standard designation.

According to the TEA, the 2015 ratings are based on a system that uses a range of indicators to provide greater detail about the performance of a district or charter and individual campuses. The performance index framework comprises four areas:

  • Student Achievement – Provides a snapshot of performance across all subjects.
  • Student Progress – Measures year-to-year student progress by subject and student group.
  • Closing Performance Gaps – Emphasizes the academic achievement of economically disadvantaged students and the lowest performing racial/ethnic student groups.
  • Postsecondary Readiness – Emphasizes the importance of earning a high school diploma that provides students with the foundation necessary for success in college, the workforce, job training programs or the military.

Schools serving Sienna Plantation include Scanlan Oaks Elementary, Schiff Elementary, Sienna Crossing Elementary, Baines Middle School and Ridge Point High School, all located in the development. Sienna students also attend the nearby campuses of Heritage Rose Elementary and First Colony Middle School.
