Dr. Toussant Smith — a Cardio Doctor With Heart
June 13, 2022

I read that once you are in your mid-50s, you should get to a cardiologist for a heart work-up. I had to go before that due to an irregular heartbeat, but I was told at that time I was too young for them to check for blockages. Now that I am 54, I wanted to have a complete evaluation, so I went to Dr. Toussant Smith in Sugar Land.

If you are looking for a cardiologist, you might want to consider him. He has a great bedside manner. I was warned that most cardio docs would not be warm, friendly or talkative. Dr. Smith was all three. He is part of the Methodist Hospital system, and his office is on Town Center Boulevard in Sugar Land. He went to med school at Boston University and graduated in 1993. He had a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars when I looked up his patient satisfaction. It does take a while to get in to see him as a new patient, so I suggest you make an appointment now if you’d like to see him this year. I’ve found this to be the case with most specialists. His office is friendly, and I did not feel rushed. The best part might have been the fact that I was not kept waiting at my appointment time. I don’t know that I’ve ever been to see a specialist where I did not wait at least half an hour, so this was a nice perk. You can read about him or make an appointment at www.houstonmethodist.org
