I absolutely love how so many residents of Sienna decorate their exterior for the holiday season. It makes the fact that we get dark so early this time of year okay with me. I also love the fact that Sienna’s common areas are also beautifully decorated. It is not only the main entrances that have huge wreaths, bows and balls, but many of our individual neighborhood entrances do, as well.
I’ve had extended family come into town to stay with me and remark on how gorgeous our neighborhood is in December. I told them that lots of streets and cul-de-sacs get together and have a theme they coordinate around. This has become a fun competition for many over the years. On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Association’s Landscape Committee judged the homes for the annual Sienna Holiday Decoration Contest. The eight individual house winners will get a Home Depot gift card, in addition to bragging rights. The judges will choose best street or cul-de-sac. The winners will all be announced online by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, so that residents can drive by and enjoy the lights.
