Ridge Point Boys, Girls Ready to Play Ball

The Ridge Point Panthers baseball and softball teams are stepping up to the plate this week in playoff games that start Friday for both teams.

The Ridge Point High School Panthers baseball team has clinched the district championship in baseball for the first time in the school’s history, and will try to keep the run going Friday, May 6, in a bi-district playoff against Terry High School.

The game will be played 7 p.m. at Ridge Point High School, with a second game scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Lamar Consolidated High School. If necessary, a third game will be played immediately following game 2.

The varsity softball team is defending its Region III-5A championship, playing Nederland in area playoff action at 6 p.m. at Goose Creek Memorial High School. Game 2 will be played immediately following the end of the first game, with a third game played at 2 p.m. Saturday, if necessary.
