Ridge Point HOCO 2020
October 29, 2020

As any high schooler will tell you, this pandemic has not been very fun. These students have missed out on so much. The school was not able to have the Homecoming dance this year. The Panthers did get to play the football game and they did beat Clements, so that was a bright spot. What I loved and was really not surprised by was how many Sienna parents stepped up in a big way to make this Homecoming what it was. Having a senior this year, I was so happy to see these kids get to celebrate this fun week. The Sunday before the game, some parents put together a fabulous parade. All the sports teams from the school — along with several clubs — rode on decorated trailers through Sienna as residents lined up to cheer them on. The following Saturday night, several people opened their homes and backyards to groups of kids for sit-down dinners that could not take place in restaurants. My son attended one that was caterered by Churrascos and he said it was a blast. The decorations, the traditional Texas Mums and the beautiful dresses made for some great memories for these kids, and it was a real blessing in this crazy year.
