Baskin Robbins in Sienna

September 09, 2018

As a kid I loved going to Baskin Robbins.  Back then we did not have Marble Slab or Ben & Jerry's.  We lived in the Spring Branch area of Houston and on Gessner was an old looking (even back then) strip center with a Baskin Robbins in it.  I clearly remember walking in there knowing I was going to order the Pink Bubblegum flavored ice cream that had REAL peices of frozen bubblegum and KNOWING that my Dad would say what he always does "Missy I'll never understand how you can order that one with all these other flavors to pick from".  Once when I dropped the top scoop right after taking a bite (and before the tears started) my Dad even re-ordered this for me. It's a good childhood memory.  When I saw the sign go up that we were getting a Baskin Robbins I planned to take my boys there and order that same flavor.  Two weeks ago we did go but instead of ordering the pink bubblegum flavor, I ordered Jamoca Almond Fudge because that was the one flavor my Mom got every single time we ever went there.  Every. Single. Time.  That is an even better childhood memory- my Mom loving her ice cream.  She always got it in a cup and not on a cone (which I never understood as a kid).  My Dad was sure right about there being much better choices available to me.  I'm going to go back and get my Mom's favorite again.  I enjoyed every single bite (and I got mine in a cup this time :)   Baskin Robbins is just accross the street from Sienna on Hwy 6 if you have not been.
