When it comes to academic success, Sienna Plantation schools get results, so it didn’t surprise us in the least that Niche.com recently rated them as some of the Best Public Schools in Texas for 2018.
Good schools start with a good school district, and the Fort Bend Independent School District ranked in the top 5 percent for Best School Districts in Texas based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings and more.
On the list of Best Public High Schools, our on-site Ridge Point High School placed in the top 2 percent of Best Public High Schools. The Panthers routinely post superior scores on state-mandated tests as well as the SAT and ACT. The school also excels at college prep and has some of the best teachers in the district.
First Colony Middle School ranked in the top 5 percent on the list of Best Public Middle Schools. Both First Colony and on-site Baines Middle School ranked in the top 2 percent for Most Diverse Public Middle Schools. Schools are ranked based on based on state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, middle school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.
Our elementary schools excelled as well, ensuring that Sienna students receive an excellent foundation for later academic success. Three of our on-site elementary schools — Scanlan Oaks, Schiff and Sienna Crossing — ranked in the top 5 percent out of 4,398 schools in Texas on the list of Best Public Elementary Schools. Heritage Rose Elementary, located nearby, ranked among the top 22 percent. Schools are ranked according to teacher salaries, teacher absenteeism, teacher tenure, student-teacher ratio, the Niche Academics Grade for the school, and the district's Teacher Grade. Our fourth on-site school, Leonetti Elementary, is too new to be included on the annual list.
Congratulations to the teachers, students and staff at all of our wonderful schools. You deserve it for a job well done!
