Missouri City ranked No. 16 on 24/7 Wall St.'s list of “America’s 50 Best Cities to Live.”
According to 24/7 Wall St., Missouri City is one of the most crime-free cities in the country. It also offers families a cost of living only slightly higher than the national cost of living.
24/7 Wall St. reviewed data on 550 cities with populations of 65,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and used a range of variables including crime rates, employment growth, educational attainment and housing to determine which cities would appear on the list.
Missouri City is home to one of the almost 20 master-planned communities in the Houston area, Sienna Plantation, developed by Johnson Development Corp.
Other Texas cities that made the list include: Richardson, which ranked No. 17, and Flower Mound, which ranked No. 9 on the list.
Houston and its surrounding cities have been getting a lot of attention lately with Houston landing at No. 8 on Forbes’ list of “U.S. Cities Attracting the Most Families" in 2014 and on its list of “America’s 20 Fastest Growing Cities” in 2013. The New York Times listed Houston as one of 46 places to go in 2013.
