Cullinan Park is a 754-acre city park located just north of Highway 90A. It boasts frontage on Oyster Creek and Red Gully and has an observation tower, nature trails, a boardwalk and overlook. It encompasses two lakes and has prairie as well as woodland acreage. Cullinan is actually as big as Central Park in New York City and almost twice the size of Hermann Park in Houston. It was created in 1989 by the Houston Parks Board through donations from the estate of Nina Cullinan. It’s the perfect place to take your family if you’d like to enjoy the outdoors and social distance from others at the same time. It is a good place to bird watch, fish and picnic. The arrival of cooler temps makes this the perfect time of year to check it out.
