Mexico during the pandemic
September 11, 2020

Back in late July when we found out that FBISD was pushing the school start date back by a few days, we decided to book an adult trip to Mexico. I admit I had reservations about leaving the country (without my one child still at home) during this pandemic. I kept pushing for Florida instead. Since none of us had been diagnosed with COVID, I kept thinking “what if we come down with it while there and can’t get back as planned?” There would be far worse places to be sick than the resort we were considering, but I had to get home to Zane before the first day of school or I didn’t want to go. My husband and the other adults going insisted we’d be fine and outnumbered me.  Our Southwest flight was perfect — actually better than ever with an empty seat on every row.  We checked into the Rosewood Mayakoba just outside of Cancun and loved every minute of the trip. The resort told us they wanted to stay at 30-40 percent capacity and we could see that they had. We had space and privacy at all times. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel safe and comfortable. If you are wanting to get away, I highly recommend this location.
