FBISD Update
August 23, 2020

Fort Bend ISD started school all online (except for special cases) on Monday, Aug. 17.  A few weeks ago, parents were given the option to request to borrow a laptop from the district. This was part of our online enrollment paperwork and it was easy to complete. The laptops were handed out at each campus in order of last name and at Ridge Point High School here in Sienna, this process went very smoothly. The district also provided a help desk and sent emails with the phone numbers to call for those who were having trouble logging in. In addition, certain schools were set up to provide assistance with the laptops the weekend prior to the start of school. The FBISD Board continues to meet in order to implement a plan for the rest of the calendar year. On Monday, Aug. 31, they will meet to discuss the timeline of students possibly going back to school face-to-face. I know many of us are anxious for this to happen, but I’m thankful this first week of online classes went well for my senior, as well as most others I've spoken with.
